FYJC 2016 Important Instructions for the Students

-Junior Colleges are identified by a unique code number depending on stream, type, set, and
medium of instruction as described earlier. A junior college may therefore be given more
than one code number depending on stream, type, set, and medium of instruction.
-Applicants are advised to make a careful selection of junior colleges while filling their order of
preferences, as the fee structure for aided, unaided, permanent unaided divisions in the same
junior college and self financed junior college is different. They are further advised to be careful
about the medium of instruction.
-There shall be three merit lists. All the merit lists shall be prepared on the basis of the merit,
category and the order of preferences of the applicant.
-There shall be only one application per applicant. Application can be for any one but for
not more than two streams. In case of application for two streams, the applicants may give
preferences in any order subject to the condition that at least one preference should be for
each stream selected.
-Applicants are required to give their preferences in three parts as described below;
a) In the first part, minimum 15 but not more than 30 preferences from the entire
MMR must be given.
b) In the second part, applicant is required to select any one zone. From the zone
selected, minimum 15 but not more than 20 preferences must be given.
c) In the third part, applicant is required to select any two wards / sectors from
the zone selected above. From these wards / sectors selected, applicant is
required to gave minimum 5 but not more than 10 preferences of junior
colleges attached to schools.

Note: 1) As far as possible an applicant should select only one stream. In case applicant is
applying for two streams, then at least one preference for each stream must be
included in a), b), & c), above.
 2) Preference will be considered in the decending order starting from part a) part
(b) part c) i.e. starting from MMR Zone Ward/Taluka/Sector

-Applicants residing within MMR, passing std. X from Maharashtra State SSC board, applying
through open merit category, can ‘SUBMIT’ their applications ‘ONLINE’ from home, from
their respective schools or anywhere.
-Applicants residing within MMR, passing std. X from Maharashtra State SSC board & claiming
reservations (constitutional &/or special) are required to ‘SUBMIT’ their applications ‘ONLINE’
through the Heads of their respective schools.
-All the applicants residing within MMR, passing std. X from other than Maharashtra State
SSC board, Mumbai Division, must ‘SUBMIT’ their applications ‘ONLINE’ through the
Heads of their respective schools.
-All the applicants from outside MMR, passing std. X from any board, must ‘SUBMIT’ their
applications ‘ONLINE’ through any Guidance center.

-Students - from within or outside MMR-, who have passed std. X examination from any
board in more than one attempt, must ‘SUBMIT’ their applications ‘ONLINE’ as described
in (5.8), & (5.9) above. Such applicants must enter sum total of marks scored in the
subjects in which they have passed from time to time.
-Applicants whose name appears in the merit list of a particular junior college must
secure admission in that junior college within the period allotted, failing which they will
have no claim in that junior college, and will be dropped from the process of online
admissions.
-It is pertinent to note that maximum one betterment option may be given. Betterment option will
be in the ascending order of preferences. It will be offered subject to merit, & vacancy and only
to those applicants who have secured admission in the junior colleges allotted to them in the
previous merit list. Please note that, if the applicant does not accept betterment option,
no more options will be given subsequently.
-Admissions allocated through all the merit lists are subject to verification of various claims made
by the applicant. Any information provided/claim made by the applicant found to be false/untrue/
incorrect/inconsistent/not supported by proper documents, will result in cancellation of admission.
-While selecting junior colleges in the order of preference, applicants are advised to consider the
previous year’s cut off percentage (category wise) for the respective junior colleges. This may
help them getting a placement in a junior college appropriate to their merit. However, please note
that, the information regarding previous year’s cut off percentage is merely a guideline provided
for making selection of junior colleges easier, and is no guarantee of admission to that junior
college.
-Applicants are advised to take a system generated printout (not a screen shot) of their
‘SUBMITTED’ application.

-If applicants realize of any error/discrepancy in the ‘SUBMITTED’ applications; they are
advised to approach the nearest guidance centre (listed in this booklet) within the stipulated
time with all the original documents in support of the changes they wish to make.After
making necessary changes, they will have to ‘resubmit’ their applications ‘online’ through the
incharge of the guidance center. After resubmission, a latest system generated prinout of the
application must be taken in such cases.
-As an addittonal facility applicants may receive an acknowledgement of their ‘ONLINE’
applications via SMS on the mobile numbers they have indicated in their applications. However
they must check the status of their ‘ONLINE’ applications on the website http://fyjc.org.in/
mumbai
-Applicants are advised to study the information in this booklet carefully and follow the instructions
before Submitting their applications online.
